Unit 41 - Production and Post Production for Film

In this screenshot you can see us lining up the recorded music with the footage using the sound recorded by the camera and comparing the song to their lips and movements. We have had to add in cutaways between the footage to sync the footage with the song as they were playing at different speeds.

Here you can see us editing in a black out transition. This just makes the change in footage more smooth and not as severe. The effect also states the end of a section this splits the footage in to certain parts.

Here you can see us editing a fade to black transition and a black screen after to show the ending of the film and not just leave it to suddenly cut off and leave it looking unprofessional and unfinished.

In this picture you can see us editing in the heartbeat sound effect in to the spaces that I've made for the effect. This effect gives the scene character and makes a good intro for the video as the clips that are in-between the blackouts are the band walking to the stage. we used this effect as a show of stress and worry like as if the hearts of the band would be racing.

This footage is of the band playing on stage. Like the rest of the live audio, it is very poor as without all the correct microphones and other equipment to capture this. So instead we have decided to get the songs they have recorded and put them over the top to make it sound and look better. We see a few camera shots, however all consist of the all 5 members of the band (even if the drummer is a little out of sight). We can see a little of the crowd stood watching the band perform for them. The footage is very blurry in points and shaky at times, however over all this is very good bit of footage and a lot of it will be used across the final product. However this footage is a lot blurrier than the last one, so we will have to be careful with what we use on this as it will probably be used for cut aways as the songs played on this one are mainly ones that are covers of well known songs which they do not actually record, so we would not be able to get good audio for it. Overall I would rate this footage at 2/5

This footage is not as blurry as the second lot, however it is over light, but this can be addressed in premiere. at 1:22 we see the lead guitarist jump, this will be good footage to use as it is very rocky and would be good for a cut away. I would rate this footage at 4/5.

This is footage of the crowd entering the venue, originally we planned to use as a time lapse however after reviewing it will probably be used as a cut away from the poor bits of footage of the band playing on stage. This will also add some affect to the final product and also show viewers that they get a lot of people come see them. Overall I would rate this footage at 3/5.

This is the footage of the interview of the band. Some of the footage is unusable due to taboo language and messing around from band and interviewer. However this helped the band feel more at home and give us a more relaxed interview. There are serious responses as well as the mess around so this footage will be used, the mess arounds will be used as cut arounds as well, to add a quirky feel to the film. This one is the rehearsal filming to see how they responded to gigs. Overall i would give this a 3/5.
